Take a break from the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy a cup of coffee along with their range of delicious baked goods, where the laid-back atmosphere and friendly staff will make you feel right at home.

2. Departure Lounge @Damansara Utama
Departure Lounge (interesting name!) is one of the most popular hangouts in PJ and their coffee smell is just divine.
Being a travel-themed café, the décor and ambience give a very wanderlust vibe.
If you fancy hearty meals with your cuppa, then this is the perfect place for you.
Their bestseller is the ‘Do it my way’ breakfast platter. You can choose between 3 to 7 items like sausages, pancakes, baked beans, fried eggs, bacon among others. F
My favourite is the yummy carrot walnut cake with some hot cappuccino prepared by their award winning baristas. Drooooool !
The service tends to get slower during weekends, but with a library filled with travel books for browsing (and maybe even get some inspiration for our next travel), we don’t really mind 😀

3. Bean Brothers @Sunway Damansara
Located in the hidden industrial lanes of Sunway Damansara, Bean Brothers is definitely one of the best kept open secrets in PJ.
This is the perfect place if you love strong coffee.
Originally from Korea, this café is quite spacious with a typical raw warehouse look which adds to its unique experience.
We highly recommend their single origin pour over coffee.
Bean Brothers roast their own coffee beans, and you can order their homemade brownies and cheesecakes which are highly popular among customers.
Fun Fact: This coffee shop is great for students and freelancers as there are electrical plug points everywhere 👨💻 The internet speed is fantastic too!
P.S. The washrooms are also super clean at all times. You will feel pretty much at home here 🏠

4. Artisan HQ @Seksyen 13
Serving high quality coffee over the years, Artisan Coffee has made quite a name for itself.
It’s one of the few cafes that is open until midnight. Finally an ideal place to hang out with friends after work and just chill!
The café has a no fancy look, but gives out a cozy vibe. Perfect to unwind after a long day!
It offers a wide range of artisanal coffee and cakes. According to their website, their coffee beans are sourced from the coveted Common Man Coffee Roasters and Oriole Coffee Roasters.
Our recommendation is Dolce Mocha latte and Grilled salmon aglio olio.
If you enjoy coffee based desserts, then you would love Affogato. It is basically a scoop of vanilla ice cream topped with a shot of hot espresso. Yummyyy!

5. One Half Coffee Bar @Taman Paramount
Tucked away at the back of a retail outlet, Ilaika and surrounded by calming green plants, One Half Coffee Bar was founded by two times Malaysia Barista Champion Keith Koay.
So you can expect nothing but the best here.
Its current location is a co-shared space between Ilaika and the café.
It started as a pop up store at Brat’s, PJ but they have now moved permanently to Taman Paramount.
You can enjoy a range of coffee, tea, juices, homemade breads like sour dough, banana loaf and cakes. Their filter coffee is a must try. Unpretentious and simply the best!
We also recommend their tonic based coffee drinks. The baristas are really friendly and you could ask them for recommendations if you aren’t sure about what to order.
One Half Coffee Bar often keeps on adding new items in their menu, so you can enjoy something different every time.
